Dr. Jennifer Mullan

Dr. Jennifer Mullan, The Rage Doctor and founder of Decolonizing Therapy®

Got questions? Good.

I’d rather you ask than wonder. Whether you’re trying to figure out if this community is for you, have feedback on something we published, or just want to say hi — my team and I are here and we actually read every message.

This work is rooted in care, reciprocity, respect, and ancestral fire. As a multiracial Black Panamanian woman, I do not offer unpaid labor. I ask that all inquiries honor the value of this work, my time, and the lived experience that informs it. I also expect communication to remain humanizing and grounded in mutual respect. Please review the FAQs before reaching out.

FAQs

Dr. Jenn

If you’re a mental health practitioner or careworker of any type looking to transform your practice, start with the Center for Decolonizing Therapy. If you’re an individual seeking personal healing, ancestral reconnection, or emotional liberation, Sacred Rage is your entry point. Not sure? Browse the FAQ or reach out — we’ll point you to the right door.

No. I don’t offer individual therapy or clinical services. My work is educational, transformational, and community-centered. If you are seeking a therapist, I encourage you to find a licensed mental health professional — ideally one trained in decolonial and culturally responsive approaches.

I don’t offer individual sessions. My work lives in community, cohort, and educational containers. See “How can I work with you?” below for current offerings.

My work is primarily accessible through the Center for Decolonizing Therapy (including DT Fellowship Training and Office Hours), Sacred Rage (book, media, and future programs), speaking and keynotes, and high-level consulting containers. For speaking inquiries, please visit the Speaking page.

Decolonizing Therapy is a structured framework and training space for clinicians, practitioners, psychologists, and space holders — it’s about dismantling colonial and Eurocentric approaches within mental health and therapy spaces.

Sacred Rage is Dr. Jenn’s body of work for a broader audience — anyone navigating rage, grief, soul dehydration, and liberation. It lives in her book, media, and future programs.

Center For Decolonizing Therapy

DT Foundations Training is for mental health practitioners, clinicians, psychologists, coaches, and space holders who want to learn the Decolonizing Therapy framework — and apply its Past, Political, Psychological, and People lens to examine and dismantle the colonial and Eurocentric frameworks embedded in their training and practice.

Office Hours is a community space for practitioners and careworkers in the Decolonizing Therapy ecosystem who want to work through decolonial praxis in community. Together we examine evolving topics at the intersection of healing, liberation, and practice — held by guest teachers and team members.

Decolonizing Therapy training is not a licensed clinical program and does not replace licensure. It is a transformational educational experience for practitioners seeking to decolonize their existing practice.

No, not at this time.

No, it is not generalized. Dr. Jenn Mullan, as part of Decolonizing Therapy, originally coined the term “Decolonizing Therapy,” which has since grown into a full-fledged movement. This approach is intentional in its critique of conventional, Eurocentric mental health paradigms. We challenge practitioners to reconsider assumptions around “normality” and to view mental health and healing through the lens of historical trauma, systemic oppression, and the necessity of politicizing care. By naming and structuring Decolonizing Therapy, we provide practitioners with a framework for integrating ancestral and cultural methods of healing, preserving the work’s roots, and pushing beyond the limits of mainstream therapeutic practice.

I welcome licensing requests for the Decolonizing Therapy framework. If you would like to extend this work within your community, please reach out to info@decolonizingtherapy.com and cc Lynne@BoisineauLaw.com. This helps ensure that collaborations and applications of the framework align with our mission to maintain fidelity to decolonial, anti-oppressive, and care-centered principles.

Citing my work and Decolonizing Therapy is essential for acknowledging the labor, insight, and cultural context embedded in this framework.

Sacred Rage

Sacred Rage explores the emotional, ancestral, and systemic roots of harm — and the path toward healing, liberation, and a thriving life.

It is for anyone who has been told their anger is too much, who carries grief they can’t name, or who feels the weight of intergenerational and historical trauma in their body and relationships. It is not just for practitioners — it is for anyone ready to do the work.
